Mr. Augustine Udeh, the Enugu State Permanent Secretary in State Ministry of Land, has regained his freedom.
SP Ebere Amaraizu, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure in a statement released to the media on Tuesday.
Ebere disclosed that the bandits eventually bowed to pressure as a result of joint operation of the security forces leading to the release of the victim.
“Udeh was allegedly abducted on August 25 along Ituku-Awgu axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
“Following his abduction, security operatives had been on the trail until today, August 27,” Ebere said.
He added that the manhunt was still on towards unmasking his abductors who hurriedly let him off the hook, as security operatives were closing in on them, noting that they absconded to avoid being nabbed at Ogbaku forest.
“A full scale investigation has been intensified into the incident,” he said.
