Governor Makinde has confirmed 27-year-old Fakorede as a commissioner.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sworn in 27-year-old Seun Fakorede despite the call by members of the Peoples Democratic Party to drop the youngster.
Prof. Afonja, Alhaja Fausat Sanni, and Fakorede were confirmed by the governor during the inauguration on Tuesday.
Their portfolio was yet to be announced as at the time of filing this report, but informed sources said ministries would be assigned to them based on their antecedents, backgrounds and professional experiences.
Fakorede may likely be given Ministry of Youths and Sports, a source said.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Fakorede said it was an internal matter that would be settled in due course.
Expressing optimism, Fakorede said, “We are going to resolve the issue in due course. It is an internal problem which we are going to address appropriately with our leaders in question.”
“By God’s grace we shall have a fruitful deliberation with them and all the leaders of the party will intervene.”
Also speaking, Mr. Ogundoyin who is equally young appealed to the aggrieved members of the party to see the nomination of Fakorede as part of the manifestation of the not too young to run bill in the state.
