Rotimi Amaechi Set To Travel To Geneva, Not Scared Of IPOB Attack

Austin Papi

The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has addressed reports making the rounds that Nigerian politicians are now afraid to travel abroad following the open threats of assault made by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The former Rivers State governor informed newsmen that he was not afraid and would defend himself if attacked.

“Scared of who? I’m going to Geneva, let them come. You know there is something called self-defense? ... I will go to America or a place I have a function to attend. The solution is not in attacking the politicians,” Amaechi said.

Amaechi stated that rather than attacking politicians, people should make an effort to help the Nigerian economy grow from one of consumption to a productive one.

“Nigeria’s economy is a consumption economy. We have to change it from a consumption economy to a productive economy,” he said.

You will recall that a few weeks ago, the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, was attacked by IPOB members in Germany and this has alarmed politicians across the country.
