Xenophobia: Buhari Sends Envoy to Ramaphosa
Following the recent attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, with properties worth millions being destroyed, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday sent a special envoy to President Cyril Ramaphosa to register his disappointment over the attacks on Nigerians in the country.
According to Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, the envoy is expected to arrive Pretoria on Thursday to deliver Buhari’s message to the South African President.
Adesina, in the statement, said the president was deeply concerned about the attacks on the citizens and properties.
The president has also called on Geoffery Onyema, the Foreign Affairs Minister, to summon the South African High Commission to Nigeria to discuss the situation of things in the country.
