Popular Nigerian musician and afro pop superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has condemned the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
He described the videos and scenes from the attacks as embarrassing and unacceptable.
The singer said via his Twitter handle: “Disheartening to watch these videos from my home! You’re fighting the wrong war, fighting the wrong people.
“How do we walk around hating each other? Africa is one! We’re all the same people! Pls don’t lose yourself! #SayNoToXenophobia One Love.”
His tweet attracted several retweets and replies from different people, especially South Africans. Some of the South Africans stated that Nigerians were to blame for the attacks on them because they were running drug cartels in their country, South Africa.
