Buhari summons Osinbajo, Onyeama to an emergency meeting.
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, August 4, 2019, summoned the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, to an emergency meeting over the incessant attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
The meeting, which held at the presidential villa, deliberated on how to find lasting solution to the killing of Nigerians and other foreign nationals.
Bashir Ahmad, the new Media Aide to the President, revealed the meeting to the media via his verified Twitter handle but didn’t give details about the meeting.
Recall, the presidency had revealed on Monday, that it would send a special envoy to South Africa to find ways to bring the matter under control. Reportedly, this special envoy will arrive in South Africa tomorrow, Thursday, September 5, 2019.
The president also cancelled Wednesday ’s federal executive meeting in a bid to give a holistic approach to the menace.
