El-Zakzaky and wife will leave for Indonesia and Malaysia soon.
Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), and his wife, Zeenat, may travel abroad for medical treatment soon.
The new development is coming a few weeks after the two were forcefully returned to Nigeria by the federal government after a tip-off that El-Zakzaky and his wife were planning to seek asylum in India.
It was reliably gathered that Malaysia and Indonesia are being considered for the next trip for the treatment but no date is fixed yet.
Ibrahim Musa, the IMN spokesman, disclosed the latest development to the media on Sunday.
“I know he said that they are going to look at other countries, Malaysia and Indonesia.
“I do not know if they have reached an agreement on that,” Musa stated.
