Another batch of over 150 Nigerians, including eight pregnant women, arrived Nigeria from Libya on Thursday.

The National Agency Emergency Management was on ground to receive the returnees at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

This development is coming a few hours after 187 Nigerians returned from South Africa following the infamous xenophobic attacks in the country.

The Libya returnees arrived aboard the chartered Al Buraq Aircraft, which landed at the cargo wing of the airport around 12:55 am.

The Head of NEMA, who led the team to receive the returnees from Libya, said the evacuation of the new batch was made possible by the International Organisation for Migration under the Assisted Voluntary Returnees Programme.

“The breakdown of the returnees after profiling indicates that there are 56 adult females, including eight pregnant women, three female children and five female infants.

“It also includes 84 male adults, five male children and five male infants, while seven returnees have minor medical cases,” he said.
