Why Dino Melaye turned down PDP campaign DG position.
The sacked Senator Dino Melaye, on Friday, turned down the position of Director General offered by his party's governorship candidate, Musa Wada.
The Kogi State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, during a visit to the Abuja secretariat of the party, had attempted to make Melaye the Director General of the party’s campaign council before the quick response of the politician.
Reacting to the offer, the senator, still struggling to reclaim his mandate from the tribunal after losing the governorship ticket to a preferred party candidate, Wada, said in a tweet and on his Facebook page that he had turned down the offer.
“Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of Director General of the PDP Kogi State governorship campaign council.
“I wish the PDP all the best. When truth is a casualty, there is chaos.” Melaye said.
Melaye, however, agreed to work with Wada after the intervention of party elders who urged him to parley with the party to win at the governorship election scheduled to hold November 16, 2019.
He had earlier threatened to head to court over the claim of ballot box snatching by armed thugs during the September 3 primary election in the state.
