Former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, has said he is still available for selection if he receives a national team call-up.

Enyeama had announced his retirement from international football in October 2015 after some issues with Sunday Oliseh who was the national team coach then.

"I am no longer Nigeria's captain or goalkeeper nor available for Nigerian duty," the 37-year-old wrote on Instagram after walking out of the squad to face DR Congo in a friendly.

"I fought a good fight for 13 years, but now I have finished my course."

But in a recent phone interview with Brila FM, the goalkeeper who is currently without a club revealed that he is still open to play for Nigeria again, if he gets a club and is back to his best.

“Since I left Nigerian football in 2015, nobody has contacted me. All the things you heard about me turning down the Super Eagles is false and I just didn’t want to exacerbate it by joining issues with those peddling the story,” he said.

“I cannot say no to Nigeria; if Nigeria tells me today that there’s a goalkeeping problem and they need me, I can’t say no.”

Enyeama made 101 caps for the Super Eagles captain between 2002 and 2015.
