Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has urged the United Nations to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to set free the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, and the Shiites leader, Sheikh El-Zakzaky.

He made this call in a statement issued on Friday by Emma Powerful, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary. The statement was issued as a result of the issues Kanu raised in a meeting with UN agencies recently.

He noted that Kanu’s plan to liberate his people became imperative following several political upheavals in the country, adding that the issues were presented before the various arms and agencies of the United Nations.

“Biafra’s case will no longer be ignored; it has been internationalised.

“Every issue concerning our people is now before the various arms and agencies of the United Nations. Our case will no longer be ignored.

“The case of RUGA settlement was also raised in the meeting.

“Incessant killing of Biafrans in their own land by terrorist Fulani herdsmen, extortion and killing of Biafran motorcyclists and commercial drivers by Nigerian army and police over refusal to give N50 bribery,” he said.
