Uche Nwosu, the in-law to the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has again lost to the sitting governor of the state, Gov. Emeka Ihedioha.

The governorship tribunal on Saturday, September 21, 2019, affirmed Emeka’s victory as the winner of the state governorship election.

The Chairman of the panel, Justice Mallami Umar-Dogondagi, while delivering his ruling, dismissed Nwosu’s petition of the Action Alliance Party, saying he was incompetent to challenge the victory of the governor.

The panel also struck out the petition of Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress.

The tribunal, after several prayers before the court, held that the three petitions challenging the declaration of Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lacked merit.

The tribunal stated that candidates of the Action Alliance (AA) Uche Nwosu; Ifeanyi Ararume of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to establish their petitions against Governor Ihedioha.
