Samson Siasia has reunited with his mother 76 days after she was abducted by kidnappers in Bayelsa.
The 76-year-old mom of the former Super Eagles player and coach, Beauty Ogere, has finally regained her freedom after over two months of being in the kidnappers' den.
Some days ago, the ex-skipper of the Nigerian national football team had come out to beg the kidnappers to release his mother who was sick, according to him.
Siasia confirmed the matter had been taken up by the police who were having difficulty tracking the kidnappers. He had stated that he was sad and heartbroken that his sick mother had lost her freedom at the time.
Mrs. Siasia was kidnapped at her Odoni family compound in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Monday, July 15, 2019.
She was abducted on the same day two other people, Florence Douanana, a 65-year-old woman, and her daughter, Selekire Douanana, 17, were reported to have been kidnapped.
According to reports, the kidnappers asked for a huge sum of money after contacting the family through a foreign number.
But on Sunday, September 29, 2019, news broke that the mother of the ex-football star and the other victims had been released.
This is the second time Mrs. Siasia would be abducted in the state by kidnappers, having also spent 13 days in the custody of kidnappers in November 2015.
