APC’S candidate, Aliyu, loses again to Tambuwal at the tribunal.
The Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Sokoto State, on Wednesday, affirmed the victory of Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
The petition of the ruling party's candidate, Ahmed Aliyu, was dismissed by the three-man panel for lacking enough merit to challenge the victory of the governor.
Justice Abbas Bawale, while delivering his judgment, said APC's candidate lost again to Tambuwal after failing to establish their claims of non-compliance to the Electoral Act and the issue of over voting.
The judge also noted that Aliyu failed to prove before the court his claims of over voting during the election, adding that it was mere hearsay.
After several cross examinations, Justice Bawale who led the tribunal ruled that the application lacked merit and constituted a waste of judicial time before upholding Tambuwal‘s victory.
