Officers of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested a pastor, identified as Chukwuemeka Ezeh, for killing his girlfriend, Ogechukwu Ogbodo, at her residence in the state.
According to reports, the pastor and General Overseer of Royal Prince Prophetic Ministry murdered his girlfriend, who was a recharge card sales agent, during a scuffle after she refused to buy him a tricycle.
He reportedly fled the scene with the young woman's money, which he used to renovate his church, after the dastardly act.
In his confession, Ezeh stated that it all started during one of his visits, on July 15, 2019, to be exact. He narrated that he discovered that his girlfriend of five years had returned home with 2 million naira, which she intended to deposit in the bank the next day.
Upon making the discovery, Ezeh killed her and ransacked her house, then took the money and title documents to her landed property.
He, thereafter, used the money to acquire musical instruments before carrying out a total renovation of his new generation church. When he was apprehended and interrogated by the police, he confessed to killing her for refusing to buy him a tricycle, eventhough she had bought tricycles for other people in the community on hire purchase.
The Enugu State Police Spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu, informed newsmen that the suspect would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.
