Eden Hazard scored his first goal for Real Madrid and created another as the La Liga leaders defeated Granada 4-2.

The Belgian has received lots of criticism for his largely indifferent displays in his first few games as a Madrid player since returning from a hamstring injury sustained shortly after joining Madrid from Chelsea in a reported €100 million (£88.5m) deal in June.

He, however, got some pressure off his back with his display in the top-of-the-table showdown with Granada at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 28-year-old opened his account with a fine finish just before half-time before setting up another for Luca Modric in the second.

Hazard's finish gave Madrid a 2-0 advantage after Karim Benzema had opened the scoring for Zidane's side.

The Belgium international then turned provider on 61 minutes when he laid off a pass to 2018 World footballer of the year, Luka Modric, some 30 yards from the goal post.

Granada threatened a comeback with goals from Darwin Machis and Domingos Duarte but substitute, James Rodriguez, made sure of the result when he sent home a goal in additional time.

Nigerian international, Ramon Azeez, who recently got a recall to the Super Eagles squad, started the game but he was replaced by Vadillo six minutes into the second half.
