Organisers of the world music global stage, Grammy Awards, are presently considering Nigerian afrobeat singer, Yemi Alade, for an award this year.

The vibrant singer, who recently dropped her anticipated album, ‘Woman of Steel’, took to her Instagram account to celebrate the great news, adding that she aims to move her musical career to a global stage.

“We are up for Grammy Award consideration. Reaching out to all voting members @recordingacademy to consider my Album ‘Woman of Steel’ for Best World Music Album.

“This has been an incredible project and I would love to celebrate it with all of you.

“#Grammy 2019 #Grammy Awards#WorldMusicGrammy@recordingacademy#fyc#womanofsteel#yemialade,” she wrote.

The choice of the afrobeat queen by the award company became imperative after her album received over a million global streams.

Also, being the first afrobeat female to have over 100 million views on a video, which is her hit single 'Johnny', may fetch her the recognition she deserves at the Grammys.

Alade, no doubt, has been on the rise with her music exploit since inception. She has over the years won awards and laurels, including BET, MTV, and MOBO Awards.

The seasoned singer, who is the only female music act with no record of collaboration, in 2013 had 100 million views of her single 'Johnny' video on YouTube.
