Nigeria's national U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, have arrived in Brazil for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The five-time World Champions at the cadet level touched down in the South American country yesterday and would continue their preparation ahead of their opening game today.

Coach Manu Garba and his team departed Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday evening for Dubai, where they connected another flight to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

A squad of 25 provisional players has been formed by the technical crew for their extended training camp in Brazil that would give the coaches more time to decide on the four players to drop ahead of the tournament.

Nigeria is aiming to win a record-extending sixth title and will begin their quest in Group B with an opening game against Hungary on the 26th of October.

The Golden Eaglets, who are returning to the tournament after failing to qualify for the 2017 edition, will then play Ecuador three days later before a final group game against Australia on the 1st of November.
