The National Youth Service Corps [NYSC] has declared that they have discovered 95 graduates with fake certificates.

The graduates, students from both Nigeria and foreign universities, have since been arrested.

During the last orientation exercise for youth corps members, NYSC handed them over to security agencies for further investigation.

Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, the Director-General of NYSC, made this disclosure during the 2019 Batch C pre-mobilization workshop, which held in Niger State on Wednesday.

Ibrahim explained that 65 out of the 95 arrested graduates were from universities across Nigeria while the remainder, consisting of 30 others, were from other neighbouring West African universities.

"Regarding fraudulent certificates, we have arrested 65 fake students from universities in Nigeria and from other West African universities, we have arrested about 30. We have handed them over to the police for prosecution," Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim stated.

The NYSC boss further revealed that some tertiary institutions in Nigeria are still fixated on the sale of degree and HND certificates and statements of result to unqualified persons in a bid to smuggle them into the NYSC camp. He claimed that those responsible for the black marketing of NYSC forms will be brought to justice.
