'ThisDay' correspondent and NUJ Chairman, Kano State chapter, Ibrahim Shuaibu, was recently attacked by hoodlums in the state.
The unknown assailants attacked Shuaibu in the heart of the city, even as people went about their business.
Kano residents now live in fear, as the robbery attacks have become more common in the state.
Shuaibu was said to be on his way to the Health Centre at Rijiyar Zaki when he was ambushed and robbed of all his valuables.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Secretary of the Correspondents' Chapel, Mustapha Hodi, it was revealed that Shuaibu lost his valuables. Mustapha, however, expressed joy that Shuaibu had survived the attack.
Members of the Kano Correspondents Chapel of Nigerian Union of Journalists have urged the state police commissioner to treat this matter of insecurity and robbery as urgent until the situation has been brought under control.
