Governor Sanwo-Olu: Lagos is ready to pay above the N30,000 minimum wage.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday expressed his readiness to pay state workers above the N30,000 which was recently approved as minimum wage by the Federal Government.
The governor made the declaration during a meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu, while negotiating with all the stakeholders present, assured them that the state would pay more than the approved minimum wage.
The Minimum Wage Repeal and Enactment Act 2019, which increased the minimum wage for Nigerian workers from N18,000 to N30,000, was recently signed to law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
