Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has received a massive boost ahead of November’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with the return of Ahmed Musa to first team training.

The Nigerian national team captain has missed the impressive draws against Ukraine and Brazil in the last two months due to a knee injury.

Musa had sustained the injury while playing for his club Al-Nassr’s during a Saudi Professional League clash against Al Fateh.

The 27-year-old returned to training on Tuesday evening as his team continued their preparations for Saturday’s league tie at Al Raed.

Musa's return will mean well for both his club and national team coaches. Al Nassr is currently occupying eighth position on the log in the Saudi Arabia’s elite division with eight points after five games.

His return would also be a plus for the Super Eagles who play against the Squirrels of Benin Republic and the Crocodiles of Lesotho in November as they begin their quest for a berth for Cameroon 2022.

The three-time African champions welcome the Squirrels to Nigeria on November 11 before playing the Crocodiles six days later in Maseru.
