Wole Soyinka’s Daughter Among Appointees For Police Trust Fund Committee

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has formulated a new policy to train and equip personnel to tackle insecurity. The trained personnel will then be added to a committee.

Odutayo Oluseyi of the Ministry of Police Affairs, in a statement issued by the Minister of Police, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, announced that the ministry has inaugurated a 12-member ministerial interim committee on the Police Trust Fund.

The committee is chaired by Nnamdi Maurice Mbaeri, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Police Affairs. One of the appointed members of the committee is the daughter of Professor Wole Soyinka, Moremi Soyinka-Onijala, who is a lawyer.

According to a statement made by Dingyadi, the ministry carefully selected members of the committee which comprises of directors/heads of units of the ministry and senior members of the police hierarchy.

The team's aim is to draw up a take-off budget for the trust fund. They will also liaise with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for a suitable office accommodation for the administration of funds.
