Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has been named the Ligue 1 Player of the Month for September for his brilliant performances.
The 20-year-old has been in incredible form for Lille LOSC since joining the club in the summer, scoring seven goals and assisting his teammates with two.
Osimhen, who joined the French top-flight club from Belgian outfit, Sporting Charleroi, has delivered spectacular performances this season and those efforts have finally been rewarded with his first French Ligue 1 award two months into the season.
The Nigerian international beat Algeria and Monaco forward, Islam Slimani, and Nantes defender, Nicolas Pallios, to the award.
Osimhen, who found the back of the net for the Great Danes against Angers SCO and Strasbourg last month, received his prize on Thursday when he returned from international duty with Nigeria.
"It's been an amazing time at this club and to get this award is surreal," the former Flying Eagles star told BBC Sport.
"I'm grateful to those who voted, thankful to my teammates, our backroom staff and the entire Lille fans for the love.
"I never expected this to happen so soon but I guess this is what comes when you are surrounded by great players, loved ones and the blessings of God."
Osimhen will hope to continue with his great form when Lille slug it out against Toulouse on Saturday.
