Thirteen parties endorse Audu’s widow for Kogi governorship election.
Prof. Aisha Audu of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and widow of the late former governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, has been endorsed by thirteen political parties as their sole candidate for the November 16, Kogi governorship election.
The party's spokesman, Adebayo, confirmed the development to the media in Abuja on Friday shortly after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the YPP candidate.
Briefing newsmen, Adebayo noted that the reason for endorsing the widow of the late former governor was to help her achieve the dreams of her late husband.
He added that the current state governor, Yahaya Bello, who climbed the success ladder after the death of Audu does not reflect what the former governor stood, fought and died for.
Audu, in response, stressed the need for a peaceful liberation and rebuilding of the state.
She pledged that development, capacity building and service delivery to the people of the state would be given priority if elected as governor.
“Kogi is sitting on wealth yet unemployment is an issue that is why I have decided to be the voice of the voiceless,” she said.
