A Federal High Court sitting in Kogi State has reaffirmed Governor Yahaya Bello's candidacy in the forthcoming state governorship election scheduled to hold on November 16.

Natasha Akpoti, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), had approached the court, claiming the former governor was involved in double registration as a voter in 2011 and 2017.

She further requested the court to disqualify Bello from contesting election for any public office for 10 years.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, while delivering her judgement, turned down the prayer of the petitioner and transferred the suit to the court‘s Lokoja division for the continuation of the hearing.
