The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, remanded Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman of the Pension Reforms Task Team, in custody.

The remand order was granted by Justice Okon Abang following the request of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to further embark on a thorough investigation of Maina.

Faisal, the son of the former Pension Task Force chairman, was also detained for separate charges bordering on illegal possession of a firearm and for allegedly using it on operatives during the arrest of his father.

The two were arraigned differently before the court on similar but different charges.

While Faisal is facing three counts of receiving money from unlawful proceeds with a fake name, his father is facing 12 counts of money laundering and operating different bank accounts.

They have both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
