Brigadier-General Mobolaji Olufunso Johnson, the first military Governor of Lagos State, is dead.
One of his children, Deji, confirmed his death on Wednesday in Lagos.
The retired late solider was aged 83 and was survived by wives, children and grandchildren.
The details of his death are still shrouded in mystery but close family sources confirmed to us that he died as a result of old age.
The late military brass was appointed as the military Administrator by the military Head of State, Major Gen. Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi, and thereafter became governor of Lagos State.
He served in that capacity between 1966 and 1975 when he was compulsorily retired by former Head of State, Gen. Murtala Mohammed.
There are indications that Johnson will be given a state burial, having served as the governor of Lagos State.
