The immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has lost another case at the Court of Appeal barely a month after losing at the Oyo State tribunal.

The appellate court, on Friday, in Ibadan dismissed his application, challenging the verdict of the Election Petition Tribunal on the February 23 National Assembly Election for Oyo South Senatorial District.

Recall, the tribunal had re-affirmed the victory of Senator Kola Balogun of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after polling a total of 105,720 votes to defeat Ajimobi who had 92,218 votes.

Justice Haruna Tsammani, while delivering his judgement, dismissed the former governor’s petition for lacking merit.

The judge reaffirmed that the tribunal’s ruling was the right judgement.

The judge added that Ajimobi does not have the right to raise the issue of non-qualification of the respondent based on the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party primary.
