Big Brother Naija star, Khafi Kareem, has revealed that she has been asked to return to work after meeting with her superiors in the UK.

Khafi, who was one of the fans’ favourites during the 'Pepper Dem' edition of the show, returned to London last week and had talks with her bosses.

The reality TV star had defied the force to participate on the much-followed show and her conduct while in the house was not exactly the best, which led to many suggesting that she might be fired by the London Met Police.

With the buzz that trailed the show now beginning to die down after almost a month since the grand finale, Khafi has now returned to her base to get on with her life.

In her first interview since moving back to the UK and having a sit down with her bosses, she said she has been cleared to return to her beat and hopes to do that as soon as possible.

“Work has been really great, we’ve been speaking and communicating, they asked me when I’d be coming back to work,” she told ‘Mirror UK.’

“I’m not sure when I’m going to go back yet – I want to get back as soon as possible, I’m passionate about keeping London safer.”

Kareem, who was a police poster girl alongside Met Commissioner, Cressida Dick, while celebrating female recruitment, had caused outrage among senior officers by appearing on BBN without permission.

The Met Police issued a statement confirming that the 30-year-old was on the show without their approval, although she had asked for permission which wasn't granted.

Matters became worse for her and her superiors when the Londoner was shown appearing to have sex on screen with her lover, Ekpata Gedoni, 31.

But the Nigerian-born TV star has defended her decision to accept the place on the show despite not getting a final answer from the Met.

“I started to ask what the procedure is, what would I do, I thought I might actually get into the show," she continued.

“I wanted to do everything by the book even though I didn’t know if I was in the show or not.

“I spoke to as many people as I was told to. I was told to go to my commander; I explained the situation, I told him I wanted time off – three months off of work and the reason was because I might get on Big Brother.”

Addressing the controversial show with Gedoni which was arguably her biggest highlight on the show, Khafi once again denied having sex with him, although they are still in a relationship.

“We are still together now – I met someone in there and fell in love with him," she added.

“I hope we will be together for a very long time.”

She also revealed that her plan at first when she attended the BBNaija audition in Nigeria in February, was to film content for her YouTube blog, ‘A Cup of Khafi’, which has since grown to over 19k subscribers.
