British media personality, Katie Hopkins, is getting tons of backlash over her comments on the unfortunate fire incident at Balogun market.
A video showing a man trying to put out the fire which gutted a five-storey building at the popular market on Lagos Island with buckets of water went viral.
In reacting to the video, the English columnist and former businesswoman made a tweet that has been described as insensitive by most Nigerians on Twitter.
The 44-year-old wrote: "Next time you want to criticise our fantastic British firefighters, be glad you aren’t Nigeria."
Although the tweet has drawn reactions from a lot of angry Nigerians, it has also been pushed aside by a few persons as a poor attempt by the former "The Apprentice" contestant to be sarcastic.
Katie's tweet seemed to have suggested the said man in the video was a firefighter, but reports from multiple sources confirm the man to be a security officer assigned to the building who was only trying to help.
