Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, is threatening to speak with other federations if the NFF does not act swiftly about his contract renewal.

The German tactician's contract as the coach of Nigeria's national team expires in June next year and his employers are yet to table a new offer to him.

His contract situation has been widely spoken of, with many asking the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation to tie him down with a new long term contract.

The former Bordeaux coach will be very much excited to extend his contract but has warned that he would start talking to other federations if he doesn't get a new deal from the NFF by January.

“I’m ready to discuss as I have other federations who want me but I tell them that my priority is to discuss with the NFF.

“But after January 1, I’ll be free to sign where I want. So I think the next step is to wait to see what NFF is doing," Rohr is quoted to have said.

The 66-year-old, who was appointed in 2016, led Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, a tournament which he qualified Nigeria for with a game just like he did with the 2018 World Cup qualification.

Rohr's side has also started their AFCON 2021 qualifying campaign on a perfect note, winning their first two matches against Benin and Lesotho.
