Lagos APC Chairman Calls Out “Confusionists” In The Party

David Ugbabe

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Tunde Balogun, has called out those trying to cause chaos and confusion in the party.

He declared that those calling for the resignation of the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, are selfish and described them as elements of destabilization who are trying to create confusion in the party.

Mr. Tune Balogun who made this known in an interview with the Deputy Editor of The Nations Newspaper, Emmanuel Oladosu, claims that the call for his resignation was untimely and further revealed that Oshiomhole was elected by the unanimous vote of all APC members across the nation about a year and some months ago and his tenure is expected to last four years.

The chairman pleaded with those calling for Oshiomole's resignation to give him a chance to complete his tenure. "Why don’t you give him a chance to complete his term for which he was given mandate?"

He reiterated that the perpetrators of this are those who saw that the NEC meeting was approaching, and says the claims made were illogical. He said that it was illogical because their move came after the party won two state elections in Kogi and Bayelsa.

He said their claims were unwarranted and illogical because it came after the party won two state elections in Kogi and Bayelsa. He stressed that "somebody who has been able to lead us to such victories should be given a chance if selfish tendencies do not drive them."

He concluded stating that since the National Leader of the APC was not found guilty of any misconduct, then there's is no reason for removing the leader, "who has been able to lead his party, not only to win a presidential election that returned APC to government, but also won in many states."

He maintained that the party is supreme, reiterating that elements of impunity will happen where there is no party supremacy and party discipline. Therefore, he urged party members to give Oshiomole the chance and support to avoid chaos.
