Popular Nigerian actor, Jim Iyke, has revealed why he returned to Nollywood after a short break.
The actor stated that the creativity and uniqueness of the script for a Nollywood production, 'Seven And A Half Dates,' was what compelled him back to acting.
“Creativity, uniqueness, and a lot more. I just couldn’t afford not to be part of this movie. The cast is made up of incredibly talented acts. I always choose my scripts very carefully, and when I got the script for ‘Seven And A Half Dates,’ I couldn’t turn my back on it,” he stated.
The movie follows the life of Bisola, a hard-working young woman who is passionate about her career but finds herself in a seemingly unending quest for love.
Bisola's father, Mr Gomez, while trying to save the day, sets her up with ten different dates, which he hopes would yield a positive result.
Iyke disclosed this while responding to the news that the movie had made its debut on the world's leading media-service, Netflix.
Samuel Olatunji produced the movie, which grossed a total of N33million in the cinemas.
Written and directed by Joy Isi Bewaji and Biodun Stephens respectively, ‘Seven and a Half Dates’ was released to the cinemas on August 3, 2018, and features Mercy Johnson, Sola Sobowale, Toyin Abraham, Bayray Mcnwizu, Frank Donga, Ali Nuhu, Akin Lewis, Jim Iyke, and Fathia Williams.
