There might be another opportunity for new players to be invited to the national team ahead of the next International break.
Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, had previously stated that he wasn't going to invite any new player for the competitive games.
But it seems the German is willing to make a volte-face on that decision after revealing that there might just be one opportunity to blood in new guys.
In a chat with sports radio, Brila FM, Rohr maintained that while he won’t experiment with new players when the 2022 World Cup qualifiers begin next year, he would be open to the idea of giving them the chance during the international friendly games.
“With the next FIFA window, we will already be in the qualifiers for the (2022) World Cup, so it will not be the moment to try new things with players we have never seen before,” Rohr said.
“You never know what can happen, we will see because I think before the FIFA [World Cup] qualifiers, we would have perhaps a friendly, this is the moment to test new players.”
Meanwhile, Belgium-born forward, Cyriel Dessers, has picked Nigeria as the national team he wants to pledge his international allegiance to.
The former Vitesse man is the Dutch Eredivisie top scorer this season with 11 goals so far.
