The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has criticized Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, for publicly speaking about his salary.

The Super Eagles technical adviser has been in some sort of media standoff with his employers, the NFF, which is threatening to affect their relationship.

In recent chats with the journalist, Osasu Obayiuwana, the German alleged that he was being owed while also divulging information about his contract negotiations with the NFF in other interviews.

Rohr persistently speaking to the media about his contract led to the NFF issuing a query accusing him of breaching several clauses of the contract that he signed with them.

''We don't owe you, you cannot come out to say that we are owing you salary. We pay you, an employee, and you must respect the employer because we pay your salary religiously," the former Delta FA chairman said in a chat with journalists in Asaba.

''If they pay you, you don't come out to say they pay you. There are some things you don't say.''

Rohr's contract with the Nigeria Football Federation expires June 2020 and talks for an extension are yet to commence. The former Bordeaux manager who reportedly earns approximately $50,000 every month as coach of the Super Eagles will be able to begin discussions with interested clubs or countries next month if his contract is not extended.
