After suffering their second league defeat of the season, Enyimba head coach, Usman Abd’Allah, has praised Dakkada FC for their guts.

The newly-promoted side scored a late winner to nick all three points against the champions at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Sunday.

It was the team's first win since the name change from Akwa Starlets and it moved them up to 2nd position on the log.

Utibe Arit scored in both halves to make sure Victor Mbaoma's strike for the visitors was only a consolation.

“I think the opponents played well,” Abd’Allah is quoted to have said on the NPFL website after the game.

“I like the guts of a new team in the NPFL and sometimes apart from losing, you have to be happy because I think our football is developing in Nigeria if you can see teams like that doing well for the first time.

“I think credit should go to the coaches because they played well.”

Speaking on his team's performance, the experienced tactician said:

“Today, a lot of things happened (to Enyimba), the goals I was expecting, they couldn’t score it and we conceded very very stupid goals," he continued.

“I am very unhappy with the goals we conceded and the manner with which we conceded them, even though some of the players here are playing just for the second time in the league, we have a lot of injuries so not many first-team players came but that is the essence of having a strong squad."

Enyimba’s next game is against Lobi Stars at home on Wednesday while Dakkada makes the long trip to the northern part of Nigeria where they face Katsina United.
