Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is close to joining Spanish La Liga side Getafe on loan from English Championship side Stoke City.
According to a report by Spanish sports daily Marca, the Nigeria international will be joining the Spanish top-light club Getafe in the January transfer window.
Subject to a medical, Etebo will join Getafe for the rest of the 2019-2020 campaign after both clubs reached an agreement for the transfer of the central midfielder.
The future of the 24-year-old has been the subject of speculation in the British press due to a lack of playing time in the last few months despite returning to full fitness after suffering an injury.
The former Warri Wolves man last featured for the Potters on October 22, 2019 when he lasted 21 minutes on the pitch against Sheffield before picking up an injury.
He returned to full fitness in November but has been restricted to only two appearances with the reserves.
If the move goes through, it would be Etobo's second stint in Spain, having spent time on loan at UD Las Palmas during the second half of the 2017-2018 season, on loan from Feirense.
