Morocco's Achraf Hakimi has been announced the winner of the 2019 CAF Youth Player of the Year award.
The 21-year-old full-back, who had a spectacular year for both club and country, beat Nigerian duo Victor Osimhen, and Samuel Chukwueze to retain the honour he won in 2018.
Hakimi who is on a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid has played a significant role for BVB since joining them.
Last season, he helped them secure the second place in the Bundesliga. This season, he has continued in great form for the Signal Iduna outfit, notching six goals and six assists across all competitions.
He was also a part of the Atlas Lions’ squad that reached the Round of 16 at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
