Nigerian music sensation, Naira Marley, has reacted to being tagged a ‘demon’ by a clergyman, Apostle Chris Omashola.
On Tuesday morning, Apostle Omashola shared prophecies which he claimed to have gotten from God for the year. One of these prophecies was the declaration that the singer, Naira Marley, is satanic.
The clergyman, who became famous courtesy of his sex tape that went viral in 2018, claimed that Naira Marley's songs are technically inspired by the satan to ruin Nigerian youths.
“In 2020, God told me, Naira Marley is A Demon, He is Satanic and should repent before it’s too late. His songs are demonically inspired to destroy the Destiny of The Youths of this generation, Nigerian youths should desist from calling themselves Marlians,” the tweet read.
The tweet has caused some reactions on the micro-blogging platform with many calling the pastor a hypocrite.
Joining in the reactions, the self-acclaimed 'Marlian' president posted a line from his song which seemed to be directed at the controversial cleric.
He wrote, "Sheybi omo Jesu niwo, gbese ko Tesumole," a line from his latest song Tesumole which translates to "you're a child of Jesus, raise your legs and step on the devil."
Apostle Chris' revelation comes a few days after another Twitter user listed people who he thinks would not make heaven and Naira Marley topped the list.
