Supreme Court Suspends Hearing Of Tambuwal

The Supreme Court, on Monday, suspended the hearing of the appeals of Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, and five other governors.

The suspension affected the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom; Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha; Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed; Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, and Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, adjourned the hearing of the 13 appeals filed before the six governors till Tuesday.

The Chief Justice suspended the proceeding after realising that a member of the seven-man panel was ill.

The seven-man panel was expected to resume sitting when a top official of the court announced that the appeals had been adjourned till Tuesday.
