There are some habits we innocently have that are disgusting and unhealthy and they should end this year.

Some of these habits you need to stop immediately include:

1. Sneezing into your palms

Most of us are guilty of this one and it is because we are not fully aware that the palm retains germs. Your health is not only at risk when you do this but also that of people that come in contact with you. Rather, use a tissue or a handkerchief.

2. Sharing drinks with others

It is cool to share drinks with your friends. But do you know that during this process you are also sharing their saliva and disease can easily be transmitted this way? Try to pour the drink into a separate glass or simply get your own drink.

3. Biting your nails

This is a bad habit. You can never clean your hands to perfection and that is why most germs hide under your nails. When you bite your nails, those germs go directly into your mouth. Use a nail cutter to cut your fingers instead.

4. Picking up food from the ground for consumption

Do not pick up your food once it falls on the floor because it is unhealthy and unhygienic. No matter how clean you think the floor is, if you pick it up to eat, you will be picking up bacteria as well.

5. Leaving your wet towel to dry in the bathroom

A lot of us are guilty of this habit. We do not know that the towel attracts germs whenever it is left moist. It cannot dry properly if the natural sun does not kiss it. Make a habit of drying your wet towel outside. It won’t cost you anything.

6. Cleaning your ears with your fingers

Use a cotton bud instead of using your fingers or other sharp objects to clean your ears. It can block your ear canal; thereby, affecting your hearing. Cleaning your ears with your fingers can also introduce bacteria to your hands and pose a danger to your health.
