Nigerian author and lawyer, Reno Omokri, has urged fans not to let depression deprive them of appreciating their life.

He took to his Twitter page to state that one is privileged if he has the basic necessities of life, adding that more than 50% of the world's population are not that privileged.

Rather than letting depression deprive you of enjoying the life you have, Omokri suggested that you count your blessings.

Read his tweets below:

“Life without a husband or wife, without a job or business, and without a child, is still LIFE.

“Don’t let the life you don’t have make you so depressed that you don’t enjoy the life you do have. You are ALIVE. You have a roof above your head. You have food. You have clothes. More than 50% of the world do not have these four things simultaneously. You do. Count your blessings, not your sorrows! When you count your blessings, God gives you a discount on your sorrows!”

“There is so much to be thankful for as long as one has good health, food, clothing, and shelter!”
