Bordeaux forward, Josh Maja, says he is motivated to do more following the visit of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, to his base in France.

Rohr was in France this week where he paid a surprise call to Maja as well as Samuel Kalu ahead of March’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.

Expressing his delight at the visit of the Nigerian national team gaffer, the 21-year-old said he was inspired to do more after the chat he had with the German tactician.

"It feels good to see the coach and his words really motivated me to keep pushing," the ex-Sunderland man told Goal.

"It's a great honour and privilege to be here with him on this same ground where he once played for the club."

Maja has been in fine form for Bordeaux this season, scoring seven goals and creating three more for the Les Girondins who sit in 13th position in Ligue 1 with 26 points from 20 games.

The English-born striker, who has represented Nigeria only once (friendly against Ukraine) since he completed his international switch, is likely going to get another invitation for the Nations Cup qualifying match against Sierra Leone in March.

But in the nearest future, his focus would be on the away trip to Nantes this Sunday in Ligue 1 at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
