Traditional Ruler Arrested For Murder

The Nigerian Police Force of the FCT Command has arrested the traditional ruler of Ushafa in Bwari Area, Alhaji Mohammed Baba, following the alleged killing of a police officer at his place.

The Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Anjuguri jManzah, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

The PRO said the police officer was killed by a mob at the chief’s place. He said the secretary of the Chief, Mr Danlami Busa, was also arrested in connection with the case.

DSP Manzah said ASP Eric Isaiah was murdered at the Chief’s palace while trying to arrest one Moses Peter, known as Dogo, a suspect wanted for culpable homicide.

Manzah said one Dominic Emmanuel, had reported at Bwari Police Division Headquaters that his brother, Moses Peter, engaged to work as a mason was found unconscious after being attacked and severely injured.

According to Manzah, the brother told the police that Moses was rushed to the general hospital for medical attention and was able to provide vital information as regard his assailants before he passed on.

According to him, the detectives sighted and accosted Dogo, who resisted arrest and requested to be taken to Chief of Ushafa’s palace before the police could arrest him. Getting to the palace the police officers were attacked.

He said the CP has directed that the killers of the police officer are going to face justice.
