Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has expressed his delight at the capture of the club's target, Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese completed his switch to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, in a deal that could rise to £68million.

After spending several months chasing the creative midfielder, Solskjaer has shared his happiness at the club's ability to get the much-needed acquisition through the line.

“We have been tracking Bruno for many months and everyone here has been tremendously impressed with all his attributes and what he will bring to this team," the Norwegian told the club's website.

"Most importantly he is a terrific human being with a great personality and his leadership qualities are clear for all to see.

"Bruno’s goals and assists stats speak for themselves, he will be a fantastic addition to our team and he will help us push on in the second part of the season. The winter break is coming at a perfect time for us to integrate Bruno into the squad and for him to get to know his team-mates.”

United have had a poor season so far and creativity in the final third has been one of the most glaring issues. Solskjaer will hope that the acquisition of Fernandes and the imminent return of Paul Pogba will solve that problem.

Meanwhile, Fernandes could make his United debut this weekend when the Red Devils square up against Wolves in the Premier League.
