German-born Dutch footballer of Nigerian descent, Kingsley Ehizibue, scored his first goal for Bundesliga side, FC Cologne, in their 4-0 rout of Freiburg on Sunday.

The defender scored the third goal of the game, as his team continued to put daylight between them and the relegation zone.

Ehizibue found the back of the net for the first time as a Cologne player since joining the Billy Goats last summer from Dutch club, PEC Zwolle. He has played 18 games so far.

Born in Germany to Nigerian parents, Ehizibue moved to the Netherlands at the age of two, growing up in Zwolle. He started playing football at local amateur outfit CSV'28 before joining PEC Zwolle's academy.

He got promoted to the senior side in 2014 and made his professional debut on October 29, 2014, against HHC Hardenberg in a Dutch Cup game before going on to make his Eredivisie debut on December 13, 2014, against Willem II.

After spending five years with the Eredivisie side, the 24-year-old moved to Cologne following the signing of a four-year contract until 2023.

At the international level, Ehizibue has only represented the Netherlands at U-23 level once and is still eligible to play for both Germany and Nigeria.
