The assistant coach of the Nigeria U-17 national team, Bunmi Haruna, has joined FC Barcelona's Academy, FCBEscola, Lagos, as a scout, according to reports on Allnigeriasoccer.
The journalist turned football coach, who served as the scouting coach for the Golden Eaglets under the head, Manu Garba, at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil, has been brought in a similar role in Barca's Academy.
A proud Haruna spoke of his delight at working with one of the best brands in football at the FCBEscola training ground in Lagos.
"They are a big brand and my dream is to work with the biggest football brands in the world," Bunmi told AllNigeriaSoccer.
"I hope to bring in my little experience to ensure more Nigerian players get a chance to play for arguably the best team in the world."
The Barcelona Academy in Lagos is one of over 40 of such facilities across the world owned by the club. They serve as breeding grounds for the La Liga giants.
