American content creator and relationship blogger, Toni Tones, has said that not every woman wants marriage from a relationship.
She made this clear in a recent tweet, which has stirred debates on social media.
"Not every woman wants marriage from a relationship. Sometimes women just want to be in a relationship with someone they can have fun with, explore the world with, cook with, eat with, learn with, grow with, sleep with. Till they don’t want to anymore 🤷🏾♀️" she tweeted.
Stressing her point further, she added: "Some women aren’t ready for marriage but they still value romantic relationships. Others don’t want marriage whatsoever. As long as that is communicated to the person they’re in a relationship with, who are you to judge."
This has got a lot of Nigerian social media users talking. One user, with the handle @sucker4naija, remarked that the tweet describes “commitment-phobia” and is not a positive thing.
"What you have described is called 'commitment-phobia', it's not a positive thing. Exclusive male-female relationships without commitment is a sham,” @sucker4naija wrote.
Another Twitter user, @Leonarda_O, was of the opinion that women who are like those described by the relationship blogger have this mentality because they think the man is not 'Mr right.'
Read what the Twitter user wrote:
"I feel like most times men and women have this mentality because the significant other isn’t the right person but they just liked them enough to enjoy the present with them," she tweeted.
