Bayern Munich Rising Star, Zirkzee, Approached By NFF And Rohr

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, have begun discussions with Bayern Munich teenage forward, Joshua Zirkzee, to try and convince him to play for the three-time African champions.

According to reports by French football magazine, the NFF and Super Eagles German coach have started discussions with the Dutch-born striker who they want to join the Nigerian national team.

Zirkzee has been one of the shining lights for the Bavarians this season having netted on his Bundesliga debut and is tipped to be the future replacement for goal machine, Robert Lewandowski.

The 18-year-old striker led the line for the Bundesliga champions in the Polish striker who is injured and scored a goal in their 6-0 bashing of Hoffenheim.

Zirkzee was born in Schiedam near Rotterdam to Nigerian parents which makes him eligible to play for the three-time African champions.

At the moment, the teenager is provisionally cap-tied to the Netherlands whom he has represented at youth levels but can still play for Nigeria, having not played a senior competitive game for the European country.
